Historical simulation

  • | More

The historical simulation is used to simulate exactly what happened in a certain period back in time. The historical simulation is based on SCADA data loaded via Data Manager for all relevant boundary conditions forming basis for this replay of the operating conditions.

Alternative scenarios can afterwards be configured to highlight differences between the actual operation and alternatives. The historical simulation conducted as follows:

  • The user selects start and stop date / time
  • The system reads all measurements included in the defined interval and the nearest measurements outside the interval.
  • The simulation is conducted using the selected time steps and interpolation between measurements.

Simulation modes: Cyclic / Non cyclic

  • Non cyclic simulation (nearest old name: offline simulation)
Manual start of simulation at a user defined date and time.
  • Cyclic simulation (nearest old name: real time simulation)
Automatically started simulation being conducted with a user defined cycle.
  • In TERMIS Operation real time simulation is an automatically started simulation where some boundary conditions are read in Data Manager. An offline simulation is not using measurements but a fixed number or a time series.
  • In Operation is any simulation conducted using the defined boundary condition. The boundary condition is either a fixed number, a time series or a measurement. The measurement might be a time series.
