What’s new in TERMIS Operation 4.0 (part 1)
Operation 4.0 is scheduled for release on September 30, 2011
In the coming period we will cover the areas of enhancements and news in Operation 4.0.
The first topic in the series of enhancements and news is related to usability.

1. Revised Structure for Menu Bar and Right-Click
The user interface has been subject to a make-over with the purpose to improve the user friendliness; and thus make it more intuitive to locate the various features and functions.
An example of the revised Menu Bar structure is the new menu group “Model”.
This group includes all functionality related to build a model, update of model and assignment of Consumer Affiliations.
The Right-Click menu has been changed as well according to input from the users.

The Right-Click menu has been incorporated in the Menu bar under the Menu item “View”. Under “Show” the Right - Click Menu includes i.e. the following toggle functions:

Arrows

Control Lines

Measurements
-
Boundary Conditions

Object Data
-
Graphic Elements
The “File” Menu has a revised import/export function. The use of “Templates” is included here. When you want to apply a template file you import this template on top of your loaded model. Similarly you can export a template file.
2. Revised Generic Editor
The generic editor has been subject to a number of changes and modifications that contribute to improving the editing of objects and attributes.

Use of scrollbar with a fair performance.

Use of arrow keys during scroll with an expected performance.

Improved copy / paste performance.

Copy / paste in a transposed format.

Maintain a selection when a property page is changed.

The scrollbar includes counters presenting the filtered number of objects compared to total number of objects.
3. Menu Control in Dashboards
Operation offers a wide range of controls to cover many of the daily activities, such as monitoring data, easy access to menus, turn display of layers on or off, etc. You can add as many controls to the dashboard as needed just as you can create and customize any number of dashboards to suit your requirements. You can make your changes on a new or an existing dashboard.

4. Toolbar Buttons in Dashboards
You can create a dashboard with a set of toolbars that you prefer for particular modeling or operating scenarios. Introduced with Operation 4.0 you can add buttons with direct reference to a specific functionality or display of results using toolbar buttons.
In a similar way, you can add menu bar items for quick access to the menus that you use most often during modeling or daily operation.

5. Tooltip on Dashboard Controls
For all the controls that you add to a given dashboard, you can extend the information level using tooltips.
6. Redesign of Data Manager Dialog
The Data Manager reference dialog has been enhanced with the following features:

Virtual measurement can be configured.

Customize display of columns.
-
Option to copy and paste time series data to dialog as virtual measurements.
-
Define a priority for each measurement allowing the calculation of an overall submodel quality status.

Select a SCADA ID from a combo box of existing IDs in Data Manager.
7. Basic Startup Models
To make even advanced model creations a much simpler task, Operation 4.0 comes with a set of startup project files and direct access to key action points.
Operation 4.0 comes with the following startup files:
The Basic startup file contains two layers, a Scenario layer and a Consumers layer, and dashboards with access to key actions. This setup enables you to start adding required objects, define consumption, etc.
