Rapid Return on Investment on Temperature Optimization
The district heating plant in Hørning in Denmark has been operating with the
TERMIS Temperature Optimization module in close to one year.
Results of this first year have now been made available. Peter Jensen from
Hørning district heating can happily say that he has been able to reduce the
plant's heat loss from more than 22% in the previous years to 19% in 2006. "This
is almost equal to 3% in purchased heat," says Peter Jensen, who continues: "If
this is converted to economy, it will mean a reduction in purchased heat of
around DKK 300,000 for 2006."
"This is extremely good news for us at 7T," says Managing Director
Jens Krogh Løppenthien. "We have focused a lot on the success of this new
module, and we are happy to see that it lives up to its expectations – if not
supersedes them." The investment in the Temperature Optimization module in
Hørning has been paid back in less than 6 months.
"Several customers signed a 'no cure, no pay' contract with 7T in 2006,
allowing us to install the Temperature Optimization module – and only paying
once the results were proven," says Jens Løppenthien. "I am therefore happy to
see that the result of the Temperature Optimization project in Hørning will
provide significant financial benefits."
Besides Hørning District Heating – which was the first Temperature
Optimization installation – it is presently installed or being installed at the
Danish district heating plants in Hjørring, Holte, Suldrup, Åbenrå, Stege,
Copenhagen, Århus, and Odense.
