Extending IGSS on multiple screens

IGSS application can be displayed on multiple extended screens, increasing the size and length of the process diagrams and utilizing as much of the screen “real estate” as possible.

By default, IGSS will start on the computer screen that has been defined as the primary screen by your operating system. In the case of multiple screens, the IGSS application will automatically be extended to the secondary and following screens.

You can change this default to make IGSS start on another screen and extend to other screens following the start screen.

For example, if you have three screens sequentially connected to your IGSS operator station and you want IGSS to start on the second screen and extend to the third screen only, leaving the first screen for other programs.

In order to do this, you will have to change a registry setting for the IGSS installation on the local machine and place the IGSS on the screen you want to be the start screen.

  • Enable IGSS to save the last screen position when the program was shut down.
    • Click the Windows Start menu > All Programs > Accessories > Command Prompt¹
    • In the Command Prompt, enter “Regedit” and press Enter to display the Registry Editor form.
    • In the left pane of the Registry Editor form, navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER \ Software \ 7-Technologies \ IGSS32 \ V9.00.00 \ DefRun32_HKLM folder.
    • In the right pane, right-click the SaveOnExit registry key, select Modify and change the value to 1.
    • Click File > Exit to save and exit the Registry Editor form.
Note: You must have administrator privileges in order to make changes to the registry settings on the local machine.
  • Define the new start screen and position for IGSS
    • Start IGSS and the program on the screen which you want to be IGSS’ start screen. Extend the IGSS to the following screens if desired.
    • Exit Supervise and close IGSS.
  • Disable subsequent repositioning of IGSS (Optional)
To prevent another user from changing the default start screen by moving IGSS to another screen and exiting IGSS, you can disable IGSS from saving the screen position settings when IGSS ends.
    • Click the Windows Start menu > All Programs > Accessories > Command Prompt
    • In the Command Prompt, enter “Regedit” and press Enter to display the Registry Editor form.
    • In the left pane of the Registry Editor form, navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER \ Software \ 7-Technologies \ IGSS32 \ V9.00.00 \ DefRun32_HKLM folder.
    • In the right pane, right-click the SaveOnExit registry key, select Modify and change the value to 0.
    • Click File > Exit to save and exit the Registry Editor form.
¹ For Windows 7. Other Windows operating systems will have slightly different paths to the Command Prompt.
