50% of all bursts in the distribution network are caused by pressure
surges. AQUIS Surge enables you to establish the possible reasons for a pipe
burst, thus enabling you to take precautionary action.
With AQUIS you can:
-
Track the pressure surges throughout the network and determine sizes and
locations of pressure peaks for given scenarios.
-
Evaluate the operational or mechanical changes required in order to
prevent pipe bursts.
-
Reduce the investment in new piping, avoid discoloration and prevent
shutdowns.

AQUIS provides guidance on when to simulate network behaviour during
transients, for example when stopping and starting of pumps, opening and
closing of valves, or large clients going online. You can determine the
pressure fluctuations, which such incidents will introduce on the network,
and identify where the peak loads are.
With AQUIS, you can modify pumps or pumping operation, valve opening times
or piping layout to ensure safe operation.
