EPANET Model import/export

  • | More

Save time and leverage your existing model. With the release of AQUIS Operation 3.1 it is easy and efficient to either import or export EPANET models in just two steps. See the ensuing figure for an illustration.

AQUIS Operation interacts with the third-party application EPANet from the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to import (or export) models between the two applications.

Similar to AQUIS Operation the EPANET application performs simulation of hydraulic and water quality behavior within networks. Conceptually, there are deviations between the two applications that need to be handled when you import or export from AQUIS Operation.

Import of EPANet Models has never been easier

    1. From the menu bar select File, point to Import and select EPANet

    1. Under the dialog Locate EPANet input file find the relevant model (with the extension .inp). Now the system shows a list of all the elements that will be imported. Click OK to exit the dialog.

AQUIS Operation now creates a new model based on the imported elements.

    Export of EPANet Model

    1. From the menu bar select File, point to Export and select EPANet.

    1. Under the dialog Locate EPANet output file, point to the model file you want to export or create a new file.
The system now exports the AQUIS Operation model to EPANET.
